Peanut Butter Eggs.

Day Number Next of Spring Break 2008. What did I do? Nothing. Again. Well, not nothing. I helped my dad copy DVDs of my comp performance to send to my cast, then went to target to get bubble envelopes to send the DVDs and CDs in tomorrow. Yay :).

Also, I'm pining for The Office to come back. Please, April 10, can't you come faster?
I also looked on Craigslist for apartments in Indy. Jumping the gun? Yes, but I'm just so excited and so ready to do my thing. ya know? And I'm meeting with another theatre in Indy on Tuesday. Prayers please.

I want to cut my hair, although I'm not sure if I'm gonna cut it back to short or just trim it, but I called my hair place today and the girl who has cut my hair for 5 years is on bedrest for her pregnancy and won't be back into work til at least this summer. YIKES. I always used to give my mom shit for driving 45 minutes once a month to get her hair done in Noblesville, now I know why. Although 45 minutes for a hair cut is a little excessive. My person is like 4 minutes away. Damn. What should I do? If you are reading this, I want your advice-on two topics. 1-should I go back to short, flippy hair or let it grow? 2-should I go somplace new or hold out?

SB08

So it's my senior spring break. Whoa. I was out running errands with my dad today and was in this weird mood thinking about how pretty soon I'll be graduated and (hopefully) living on my own. God I can't wait. Yet at the same time...scary.

My comp went amazingly. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers and wishes for broken legs. I couldn't have been more pleased. My uncountable hours of help I've put in for the department and other people finally paid off and I had more help that I could have wished for. People were so fantastic. I took a lot of pictures (as is expected with me), but I can't choose which ones to put on here, so if you click here you can get to my webshots page where they are all uploaded. There are separate albums. We get the 2 days before for load in. Here are pictures of DAY 1-load in and a dress rehearsal. Here are pictures of DAY 2-some more work and final dress rehearsal. Here are pictures of DAY 3- performance day!!! And here are the pictures my dad took the day of the performance.

Life is short, ba da, daaa

Well, my senior comprehensive production is tomorrow. Holy Shit. I'll write a "how it went" post later (you know, so as not to jinx myself thusfar).

But here are 2 pictures to brighten your day (or to make me relax a little. although I'm fairly calm. Not stressed or panicked or anything. Just nervous like I would be about any other show.) All prayers and thoughts and wishes for broken legs are welcome :).

Also. this is the WEIRDEST feeling I have ever had. Similar to the whole "knowing I'm going to leave to study abroad in less than 24 hours" feeling, yet WAY WAY different. I've been thinking about my comp for almost 4 years now. I've been thinking HARD CORE about my comp for about a year and a halfish. And I've been working on it in some capacity since April. Almost a year ago. I know all theatre shows come full circle...but not like this. Knowing that this is it, and then it will be over is really, really weird. It makes me kind of emotional, although I can't explain the emotion...

So I was just dickin around on freerice.com and they had a word WRONG. If you're unfamiliar with the site, the game you play (which 'give rice to an impoverished country') where it gives you a word and you have to pick which word defines it...right.

Whatever.

Today was my birthday. well, yesterday. And it was KILLER great! I'll post about the fun festivities later. I spent the entire day in the shop/theatre building for my comp. I'm so tired it hruts. I'm so cold it hurts. I'm so sore it hurts. Wait...but seriously. I can't even tell you how many cuts and scrapes I have ALL THE FREAK OVER ME.

Just watched "Knocked up" at Ays and Carolines. Of course, Carol and I were the only ones to make it all the way thru. Jacob was there, but he left half way through. There were 4-yeah I said FOUR-cameos from the office in it...First BJ Novak aka Ryan, then the guy who plays Darrel, THEN STEVE CARRELL. Seriously. I probably spelled half those names wrong. Whatever, its 3am after my birthday who cares

4 DAYS TIL MY COMP> AH!

2.20.2008

What have I gotta do???

Not to count my chickens before my eggs hatch, but FUR IS COMING TO MY COMP!!!!!! I couldn't be more excited, and scared, at the same time!

Also. I found pictoral proof that my cousin Katie HAS BEEN PASTY WHEN I WAS NOT. She has this thing about how she lives in Florida and is always so tan, but I live in Indiana so I'm always pasty. Well, at our cousin Matt's wedding the summer before my senior year in high school, I was uber tan (ok, burnt too) and she was not. At least that's what this picture says. Granted, I did just get home from band camp that morning. And yes, I know, I have TERRIBLE tan lines. I did my best to get rid of them/cover them up with lots of blush and powder-didn't work.

I'm so happy, that I...

So, first things first. Go to The Office's website and look under "Next On:" . Yeah, it says new episodes are comng on APril 10th. Ok, thats a long way off, but at least its coming!!!!!!!!!

The interview with IRT went well. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts and support. They said they were interested in me, but they won't start looking at resumes until their show opens ina couple weeks (next week is tech, then a week of previews, then open). So they told me to go ahead and follow up if I don't hear. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

In addition to that, I made my decision about Summer Shakes. I went ahead and told Mark that I really want to pursue this thing at IRT and some other places in Indy, but if nothing works out, I'll let him know in case he needs some carpenters/electricians this summer. I think taht's what I was thinking the whole time.

Ann was in town, well is in Indy still, and saw I was gonna be home for like 22 hours. So she came over last night while my mom was sewing buttons for my comp, and while I was prop searching and laundry washing for my comp. We got to catch up. As usual I talked too much. We watched "An American In Paris" and it was amazing. It was really good to hang out with my Annie :). But it made me miss her more :(.

Lastly, my dad called me Friday while I was at home putting on my makeup and getting ready to head downtown for the interview. I was asking him where was best to park near IRT and he told me (for the 100th time) not to say "LIKE" in my interview. I said "I'm not stupid, Dad." Then last night, driving home from dinner (we got to go to one of my old school faves with my aunt, it was great), he said "you didn't say 'like' a lot during your interview did you?" and I said no. He then told me that apparently I have a TERRIBLE habit of saying "so, yeah" ALL THE TIME. He said "you'll be talking to your mom and I on th ephone saying something, you'll finish, then you'll say 'so, yeah'". I didn't believe him. Then, when Ann and I ran to Target (to look for red twinkle lights for my comp) I told her about it, and then realized that I say it ALL THE TIME. Dad was right. Do any of the readers have anything that they say like that ('so, yeah') all the time?

Ok, not lastly, sorry. My birthday is a week from today. 22. woot. My dad gave me my birthday present last night. A Derek Jeter Yankees jersey. YAY!!! Plus, he asked if I wanted to go to Target today before I headed back to campus, and he got me Monsters Inc on dvd. Ays and I watched it after the superbowl, and I fell in love. So yeah. Yay for early birthday presents.

Ok, lastly for real now. Comping is expensive as shit. I jsut have to say that.

mister cellophane

Why that song from Chicago is stuck in my head, I couldn't tell you.

I jsut created an event on facebook for my comp. I guess on here I can post what the title is. Here's the info. BE THERE.

In other completely unrelated news....

I may or may not be bajigitty. For those of you who read this and know what this means and is a reference to--yeap, I said it. And it's not Smiley, that's for damned sure. For those of you who don't--look it up, or something. Bajigitty is a phonetic spelling.

I say may or may not be because it could end up to be a waste, or simply a distraction. Plus, we all know that it is an universal impossibility for a male to ever have a thing for me. This has been decided by God I think.

2.06.2008

somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly.

2 things. One is important. One is not. You should read them both.

Important Thing: I am working on compiling my pre and post show music for my comp. Of course preshow is more important, cuz afterwards (i hope) there will be much rejoicing, celebrating, cheering, etc, so people won't be listening to the music as much. I'm looking for mellow stuff. Not love songs. To give you an example, my show is closing with Counting Crows' "Color Blind". It fits with the nature and the message of my show. Other stuff I have found that I like: Simon and Garfunkel-The Sound of Silence, Elton John-Levon, Rufus Wainwright-Hallelujah. Anyways, I'm looking for some suggestions. Anything. I have others in a playlist, but I'll keep compiling it all and then choose the best 60minutes of it. What do I definately need for my comp music???

Unimportant thing: For one reason or another I was really exhausted today. I know, today isn't over. So I actively decided it would be best for me (and those who have to work with me tonight) if I skipped my 3-415 class and slept. No biggie right. It's an intro class, just need the credit, blah blah. So for my hour of work in the costume shop today, Melissa asked me to run an errand for her at JoAnn fabrics. So i did, and it was snowing and nasty, so while rushing back to the costume studio to get it to her, I cut thru the student center so that I can dry off and warm up a little. Who do I run into? someone in the class who says something along the lines of "see you in class." Great. Whatever, I've already decided. Then I'm headed back to my room COMPLETLEY SOAKING WET because of the slush and snow the bottom of my pants, literally, all the way up to mid calfs, were soaked. I go to open the door of Le Mans, and a gaggle of girls are coming out, headed towards Regina (where said class is) and someone smiles at me and says hello. Who is this person? I wonder. Someone else from said class. Of course. Then, I get to just about the elevator and someone ELSE from class is walking towards regina. What does she do? "Are you going to class?" Well, there's person number 3. And I'm not the lying type. So I just straight up say no. But I get to thinking about it and realize, for one, its none of her damn business. For all she knows I could have just thrown up a lung or something. Ok, I know, I;m being a little mean. But really? 3 people? I know you're going to say, then don't skip class. But it's my choice.

EDIT: I just realized today was the day that we were supposed to be playing some sort of game in class and we were all participating. The professor couldn't find enough guys to volunteer to come into class today, asked for volunteers for to cross dress, and I had been one of the volunteers. Oops. Now I feel like an idiot and an ass. *sigh* thus is my life.

heroes fall as years go by

So, since my huge.fucking.debbie.downer.post last week, things have been pretty great. Not completely great. But great none the less.

Friday night was the Keenan Revue. It was pretty good. Sarah went with me. It was a good time. Sarah and I have been hanging out more recently. It's been nice cuz she knows exactly what to say to me to make me feel better, and I know that she's right because i know that she knows me.

My dad came up Saturday. We had fun. Ran errands. Ate at BW3s :). Went to the NDvDePaul basketball game. It was weird to be at the game and not be with the basketball band. Saturday night I went to castle point to hang out with some friends after the Revue.

Sunday my dad was just going to leave south bend without seeing me cuz he knew i was going out Saturday night. He called me and his car got broken into while inthe parking garage at
the Marriott downtown. He said that they shattered his driver's side window. At first he thought nothing was stolen (even tho his ipod, gps, my moms gps, and his xm radio were sitting out in plain view). He figured whoever it was got scared away before they could steal anything. He realized on his way home that they stole his radar detector--the cheapest thing out of all of that, ironically. Apparently the Marriott had had this happen before. They vacuumed his car, taped his window (he called to tell me he had a kentucky window), and said that if the hotel's and his insurance wouldnt cover it, that they'd give him 2 free nights for graduation.

Had to start load-in for the dance show on sunday. Had rehearsal for my comp too. Plus watched the superbowl at ays and caroline's. I ended up spending the night cuz when it was time for me to go home, it was snowing like crazy.

Today was mostly good. then it got sucky. I guess my whole reason for posting is to bitch about tonight. Whatever. It wasn't SO bad...it was just one thing after another that kinda upset me. Someone didnt show up for my rehearsal. Then we weren't getting ANYTHING accomplished. I take partial responsibility for this because I allow openness and fun and sillyness most of the time. But it got out of hand. Plus im stressed about my comp anyways. Much more than I let on. Plus people have to miss rehearsals later in the week. grr. Then I realized that the person I always call to cheer me up and to give me some perspective "can't talk to me right now" cuz "shit happened in his world and hes gotta figure it out on his own" or whatever. And that pissed me off even more. Since that really pathetic post last week, I haven't been too bad. I just needed to get that stuff out, and it made it much much easier to deal with. I was able to talk it out with someone i know who really understands me, that helped too. So i havent been thinking about it as much or as upset by it as much. I have finally just accepted that hes being a jerk, and if hes gonna be a jerk, im better off without him in my life til he decides not to be. So I was ok. But tonight I got upset cuz I was upset about something, and couldnt call my bestfriend who was always there for me and helped me deal with that shit. Then I got more upset cuz I started thinking about how stupid this whole fucking situation is. and it was a vicious cycle. (wow the spelling and grammar in this is terrible, sorry). So I came back to my room pissed off and sad as shit. Was obnoxious and emotional and made an idiot of myself to 2 people on aim. Not in a huge way, but I should have just cooled off instead of being all emo or whatever, cuz i hate it when people do that and i hate it when i do that. Plus, I always regret things I say when I say them upset. Grr. So i'm left with thinking about how dumb this whole thing really is (not the comp thing, its perfectly fine to be angry about that), and I'm not as upset anymore. I'm trying to actively make it not my problem.

Wow. I'm a little pathetic.
Tomorrow=Fat Tuesday, Civic, Voice and Movement, no rehearsal, and who knows.

I'll leave you with a pitcute of some sweet stuff I did at the civic last week.

the entrance to his hiding place

I forgot to add this when I had thought of it.
The best response to emails advertising my comp auditions:

I would like to audition, but I have one conflict: I will be in Ireland on the following dates: Jan 28-June 6. I hope this does not cause a problem because I would really like to participate in your show. Thank you for considering my request.

Break a pencil tomorrow!
Annaliese

haha :)

and to add to my ever growing list of recently watched movies: shakespeare in love, chicago, to kill a mockingbird (twice), peter pan, 10 things i hate about you (a. in honor of the late heath ledger and b. in honor of seeing the taming of the shrew this weekend), the office season 1

added picture of the day-i found this while cleaning out drawers tonight, can i go back to this time?:

you're hired?

So, the wedding. In Houston.

It was a good time. Minus me being sick and all. But it was a beautiful ceremony and a fancy reception. I was included as part of the extended family and all, which was fantastic. ANd it was great to see these people that I haven't seen in so long. Unfortunately I didn't get to do as mch hanging out (READ: hanging out, catching up, and drinking) as planned and wanted because I was sick. I did make it to the fancy ass mall they have there-the Galleria-wht like 500 stores. I got a new Swatch Watch ( i have watches, yes, but i dont have any dressy or nicer ones), plus used my Sephora gift card for some more Philosophy stuff, and got a sweet super cute light blue patent leather wristlet for $12!

Anyways, the drive to and from Midway as well as the flight to and from Houston were uneventful and fine. Despite that whole phobia of flying.

And I'm still sick, but getting better, I think. Friday I woke up with some really nasty congestion and head stuff. Over the weekend I was miserable. I'm less congested now, but I'm having trouble with coughing and haven't had much of a voice this week. Awesome.

In other news, I had my comp rehearsals started this week. Monday we had a read thru and it went really well. They really seemed to appreciate the play for the reasons I do and see the importance of the social issues involved. I started blocking last night, and it's coming along :).

Here's a picture of Claire and I. We've been friends since we were born, and our parents friends since they were younger than us.

1.16.2008

happy as a clam???? whoa there...

So the auditions for my senior comp are tomorrow night. SHIT. 7PM REGINA 16. BE THERE. im not nervous about my comp, im just nervous no one will audition since the other 2 girls comping within a week of me had their auditions tuesday...oh well, we'll see.

Also, I;m flying to Houston Friday...driving to Midway Friday morning...that will make tomorrow night fantastic...NOT. But I get to wear THE dress :)

Lastly, I went to update my IPod since ive gotten some new music, and would like as much as possible to have it for the drive to chicago+flying to houston. Well, because of the recent issues with me and computers (remember that time my hard drive crashed the week of directing finals?) some of (read a lot of) my music SOMEHOW ended up in itunes as duplicates, PLUS all of the purchased music is in there 3 or 4 times for numerous reasons. so, needless to say i could not update my 30GB ipod w/o taking care of stuff. I'm too lazy right now to actually delete the stuff, cuz its weird--some of it is in the library twice or thrice, but not on the hard drive that many times, so i have to be careful about deleting. So i jsut went through the "show duplicates" and started unchecking stuff that was duplicated. Then I did my "iPod Spring Cleaning". There's so much on there that i dont listen to. Anyways, after all of the unchecking, my updated Ipod now has only 14GB instead of 30+. Whoa. Also, don't worry, all that music isnt filling my hd, i have it all on an external.

peace, love, painted nails.
