proud partner...

yesterday's post was really intense. Sorry about that. Good news is, it helped. Nothing has changed or anything...but it felt good to just fricken get it out. And I'm not ALWAYS like that (read: depressed, self-pitying, and what not), but when you're in your room for a long time doing work and having nothing to do but think, you get the best of yourself. It's dangerous. I mean, yeah, i still feel all those things, but I'm not CONSTANTLY dwelling on it.

In other news I have a resume made. My mom is going over it for some feedback, and her personal assistant at work used to work for a temp/placement agency so mom gave it to her to look over and give me some feedback. Now if only I had a job to go with my fancy-new-resume. Of course, i have the stand-by theatre resume already. This is my "real world resume". Scary shit.

Also, I have a question. I live on the 4th floor of my dorm. Thats about 70 stairs from the first floor, and even more from the basement. Of course, living on the 4th floor is great, because it feeds into my HATRED of stairs. I hate hate hate walking up stairs. Yes, I'm lazy, I know. But it's more than that. It's hard to describe. I don't mind walking...but I hate taking stairs. I take elevators whenever possible. And I'm not afraid to admit taht I'm that asshole taht takes the elevator one floor (up, never one floor down-I'm not THAT bad). So yes, I always take the elevator to up to my room. I've taken the stairs twice to my room this year-once was peer pressure and once was cuz the elevator was broken. Once it was broken and i had a HUGE basket of shit from Target and the grocery that was REALLY heavy, so I walked to the elevator on the other end of the building. Anyways. Murphy's law seems to always go into effect when in regards to elevator. Where ever I am when I need it, it is always on the opposite side of the building. Everyonce in a while its there, or a floor or 2 away. Why is that? But what is worse??? Doing laundry and dealing with the damned elevator. That's not 3 floors between me and my room, its 4! Pathetic, I know. But whatever.

7 people besides myself came to my SAC Theatre Majors event last night. 3 came tonight. And get this...none of them were theatre majors. I'm really upset. I put a CRAP ton of work into these events.

Blah.

insisting that faith and honor...

It's been an interesting weekend. Thursday I had to see Actors From The London Stage do "The Taming of the Shrew". Normally, I don't derive pleasure from seeing Shakespeare. I appreciate it. I respect it. I understand it's importance. But I don't actively choose it. Not to mention last time I saw AFTLS ("Hamlet") it was terrible and almost unbearable. And I've never read "Shrew" or worked on anything about it. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was really good. I didn't even THINK about falling asleep (I have been known in the worst of situations to try to fall asleep to make it go faster.) nor did I think about anything else. Also, the guy who came to our class on Tuesday was BEAUTIFUL. So it was alright.

Michaela, my boss, asked, nay, BEGGED me to stage manage the Claricello concert this weekend. Yeah it sucked. We had to be there for more than 5 hours Friday night, for more than 4 hours Saturday night, and then early for the concert today. B O R I N G. Plus the music people here are never very grateful for the work we do. So that wasn't fun. PLUS I had this dream last night that my mom was my light board op (for the real thing, I ran th eboard) and was causing all sorts of prblems with the house lights and it was INSANE. Luckily, not the case.

Last night there was a party. A Gatsby themed party. We dressed up. It was fun to bond with my theatre girls here. The last 2 weeks have been insane with the wedding and comp stuff. ANd some more stupid bull shit with smiley went down this weekend. I've been kinda flying this whole thing with him solo, but it was so nice to have their support and listen to them tell me the things i need to hear. When the party wound down, Xtina, Jacob, Carol, Lauren, and I went to steak n shake. We almost got jumped by a group of gang members.

Today was the concert. Blah. And rehearsal. It was bad. I was way off. Distracted by the stupid Claricello stuff, and being angry with him, and other stuff. So I ended it halfway thru. And was back to my room in time to see The Office win a SAG award.

The last thing of importance is taht this week is the THEATRE MAJOR OF THE WEEK week. And, as SAC rep, I had to plan all the events. Everyone who reads this, please come!!!
