All in all, it was a pretty good Golden Birthday today.
Unfortunately we had to postpone the big Birthday Taco Celebration with my Aunt, Cousin+Wife and 2 little boys because my mom got sick and had a fever. I had been planning and looking forward to this for over a week. Boo. Mom and I spent a large chunk of yesterday grocery shopping and preparing. But we didn't want my cousin's sons to get sick. Fortunately we were still able to have tacos tonight, just with much less celebrating.
Yesterday I also had 2 friends from work over and we ate home made guacamole. And I made a diet coke cake with strawberries and coolwhip icing. And we watched the Oscars. Pretty fun.
Today I was able to sleep in, and then had to go into work to guard the sign in table for the Equity Principle Auditions for The Theatre. It wasn't so bad, although it kinda blew since I was supposed to get 2 days off. Oh well, that's life. I mostly just sat there and read/did crosswords while sending people in the room.
Like I said, my dad DID make the tacos. And they were AMAZING. Plus he went to Chipotle and got some guacamole for me :). I have the best dad ever. He also got me a Garmin GPS system ("This was all my idea. I got this specially because you got the job in Illinois this summer, and I want you to be able to get around.") and an up-convert to hi-def DVD player. Of course, when asked what I wanted for my birthday, all I asked for was The Office DVD Board Game and the DVD of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (which my parents also got me). Call me materialistic, but a girl is allowed to get a LITTLE excited about (big!) surprise birthday presents, right?
After tacos and awesome gifts some of my "not real" friends came over to watch a movie (The Wackness, which was pretty good) and eat cake. OMG was it the best cake ever. Mom and I got it from Fresh Market yesterday. Chocolate Chambord Cake. Holy Crap.
So we have to postpone the family time, which is a major bummer. But really? I can't complain. It was a pretty stellar birthday.

busy busy television?
I realize that I've gone from a 5+ posts a week, to like 1 every 2 weeks. I know this doesn't affect a lot of people, cuz I know of only (literally) 4 people who read this blog. And no, I'm not saying that in a self pitying, please read my shit way. Just in a realistic way. It doesn't bother me at all.
It's just that I kinda miss coming home from whatever I'm doing and typing up stupid, mundane thoughts or tidbits. But by the time I get home from rehearsal, tech, shows, whatever, I'm so unbelievably tired and spent that I pass out to Gilmore Girls or a book. I can't tell you how many times in the lat 2 weeks I've thought "I wish I could share that with someone." And writing it here was my way of "sharing", however weird that sounds. So hopefully I'll begin to get more of a stamina for this whole ordeal and get back on the horse. Plus, I had been planning since like December to do NaBloPoMo, but by the time this month rolled around, I knew it'd be near impossible, and I'm totally bummed.
Well here's my interesting tidbit for the day. I love it when I benefit from my mom's crazy ideas, and today I benefited quite nicely. Chalk this up to the "materialistic" side of me (and judge me if you want), but who wouldn't appreciate this. My mom told me yesterday that she'd been 'considering' getting rid of our 3 big (as in twice the size of a microwave) TVs. 2 of which are ours (one is like 12 years old, the other is probably 10), and 1 we got when my Grandma moved from her apartment to the nursing home. The 12 year old TV was serving as my TV in my room for my nightly movie/whatever TV show I am currently watching on DVD.
Now, when my mom says 'considering', it either means she's been thinking about it for a long time, or she just thought of it and is throwing it out there. The other part of what she was considering was replacing 2 of them (the third is never used, and just sits in our basement) with flat screen TVs. This idea was excellent to me, seeing as one of the replacable ones was mine.
Long story short, I benefited because today we went to CostCo, and we got a 22" flat screen, HD TV (something I could NEVER, EVER afford on my own). Of course, the only one of these 3 TVs that gets used is the one in my room, so of course it only makes sense that it should be the first one to be replaced. And it was.
My mom's logic?? Getting rid of these TVs will create a TON more space (which is true) and make rooms more easily accessible. So during my mom's flip flopping today, my dad was able to convince her that getting the first one would give them the incentive to actually call the guy who hauls away junk (and sells it, so we get some $$ from it), to come and get the TVs and other stuff, as opposed to just talking about doing it. Obviously, daddy was on my side.
Long story short, I got a fancy new TV today. :)
(and don't worry, I'm INCREDIBLY grateful and appreciative)

its about time!!
My new bookcases are totally done :). I painted them, and then dad and I put them together in my room. Today I finally got all my books from storage (although what you see is not all of them by a long shot) and filled the shelves with various books, frames, etc.
Here they are:

Of course no one is allowed to judge the obscene amount of pictures on my bulliten board. I happen to be a photo obsessive, and one of my favorite things in the world is a good collage of pictures.

Batter Up!
So, I promised I'd tell you about my trip to Chicago with my dad, and here it is.
He got the tickets off of StubHub, which I've used a handful of times and never had any trouble, but there ended up being some issues with the confirmation from the seller, etc. He spent a good hour or 2 on Saturday trying to sort it out.
3 pairs of tickets later, we had seats right behind home plate in the 7th row...for $7 more than face value. Holy shit. It was amazing.
It was a great game. Lots of action and offense on both sides. In the 8th inning, there was a combined total of more than 26 hits. Awesome. Unfortunately we didn't get to see Jeff Samardzija pitch, but we did see him on the field for a while, serving as protector for the guys in the bullpen. Seeing him pitch would have been the only possible thing to make it better. I did get to see Kerry Wood pitch though. I became a big fan of his during his Rookie Year, and for some reason have followed him ever since--he just stuck with me (although I'm not a fan of his beard). It was perfect. Plus the Cubs won.
Yes, yes, I know, I'm a huge Yankees fan. My dad is a Cubs fan, and I'm a believer in being able to have a Second Team-and the Cubs are mine. Plus they are in the NL and not the AL, so they only would compete against the Yankees in a World Series match up, and in that case I'd have to go with my Yanks. And I am a HUGE fan of The Shark, Samardzija.
After the game, we went and ate a a pub a block from the stadium to let the crowd die down. We came back to the room, crashed while watching Sports Center and Comcast Sports Net for a while. We finally cleaned up, and went and had appetizers and drinks (a screwdriver and sangria) at Mike Ditka's restaurant--call us tourists, but we love that place.

candle cigars???
My dad was sitting on the porch tonight, very excitedly making playlists on his ipod-something I just taught him yesterday. For someone who is extremely tech-savvy, seems to be able to fix every problem on a computer, rebuilt my old/crashed laptop for my mom, and who always has to have the latest technology, figuring out an ipod and itunes is still a chore.
I abandoned my sort of watching of the Red Sox getting their butts kicked by the Angels while reading to go out and join him and read outside when I realized he was out there.
He went inside and came out with the last 3rd of a cigar and a giant candle lighter-one of those ones with the long metal part so it can reach deep inside a jar or something. While he used the lighter to light his cigar, I had an eerie, out of body moment of deep appreciation and love of my dad. Weird, I know...but it's the oddly funny, and seemingly unclassy, things like this that make me love my family. To top it all off, I know he has a lighter specifically made for lighting cigars out in the garage.
In addition to that heart warming little story, I leave you with additions to the ever growing list of evidence of my addictive personality:
-Google Reader (which has been an obsession for a while, but I thought I'd update you to let you know this addiction continues to thrive)
-DVR-I'd used it in the past, at home and at a friend's apartment in SB, but my appreciation did not thoroughly bud until I officially arrived home this summer.
-TV Shows that may or may not be terrible, but never the less I am addicted to them: Beauty and the Geek, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Living Lohan, and, most recently, reruns of Gossip Girl. Yes, I realize the many, many things wrong with all of these shows, and that my watching of them only supports them, but at least admitting it is the first step to recovery.
-The Fresh Market. If you have one within 30 miles of you, I suggest you go there. And by suggest, I mean demand. Yes, it's pricey, especially on thins you can find at regular grocery stores or Target, but the stuff unique to them is incredible. And their produce, oh their produce. And did I mention their wine selection???
-And lastly, I think that when I finally have a chance to subscribe to NetFlix, one of my first things to add to my queue will be Gilmore Girls. I've always loved it, but I've never been able to watch it regularly. TV on DVD marathons, here I come!!!
And a completely unrelated picture of people I miss waaay more than is healthy.

I Saw Her Last Night
Sunday evening, we finally had the Family Dinner. It was actually nice. Only one goof up, my dad taking the bathing suit joke too far at the dinner table--but it coulda been much worse. And I got to spend time with Connor, which I don't usually get to do for stupid, mean reasons.
Isn't he cAute!!?? He let me take one nice picture of him, and then he wanted to make a silly face. Of course the nice picture came out blurry...
The blocks he's playing with belonged to his dad when he was a kid. Then they were a hand-me-down to me, and I still have them so we keep them here for Connor to play with when he comes over.
And Baby Jack with his Grandma. Notice how Connor and Jack look nothing alike even though they are brothers.
And for your viewing pleasure, with her internet debut, Gangsta MooMoo. This is the ghetto version of my very perfect dog Maggie, whom my dad calls Margaret sometimes, and I refer to her as Maggie Dog. But I call her my Moo Moo. I have no clue why. So, without further ado, the dog who loves "chanting", Gangsta MooMoo:

Others jsut get wet
I am BEYOND excited!!!
My mom and I, although mostly I, have set out to redo (or something) my room. For the last 4 years while I was away at SMC, my mother turned my room into her own personal storage. This made for not very fun living quarters for me when I was home. Yuck.
Finally, after WEEKS of digging through stuff to get to my bed, we finally cleared a lot of it out and cleaned. Granted, there is still some of my junk to deal with in here. But it's mostly taken care of.
The next step was to get the appropriate furniture. Tonight, I finally reeled Smiley in to help me get my mom's desk from storage that is now mine, apparently she got it in high school--pretty snazzy. He helped me move out the crappy, old bookcases. And he helped me get the beautiful, old, actual antique secretary from my Aunt's house. It belonged to my Great-Grandma Deeter (dad's side), who must've given it to Aunt Kathy, and she gave it to me. It is gorgeous. When my room is finished, I'll post pictures.
Also, yesterday I went to Anthropologie and got new knobs for my dressers. One dresser is my "baby dresser" that I've had my whole life. The other is a dresser that, I just learned, belonged to my Great-Grandma Flanigan (mom's side), and someone gave it to my dad (weird) to use when my parents got married. Then the rents got new furniture and moved it into my room. I know, two dressers, weird. But the "baby" one is pretty small, although still functional, and the big one doubles as a TV stand.
Anyways, I got new knobs at Anthropologie yesterday. They-Are-Baller. I kid you not. Of the 16 that I had to buy, in total, 12 of them were on clearance for $3 each! The other 4 were $6 each! So it turned out to be like $60. That's WAY cheaper and a much more efficient way of making a room look brand new--instead of buying a new $600 dresser at Crate and Barrel. I also got a new duvet cover (a comforter envelope as we tell my dad) for my bed. I had been sleeping with my twin size blankets from school, but my bed at home is a full size. I had a comforter, but it was yucky and needed a hardcore cleaning (which I did) and a duvet. SWEET!
The last step will be to get the rest of my actual stuff from college out of storage. My parents threw all the stuff from my room at school into our storage unit here, and I haven't had space to unpack any of it until now. Hopefully now I can start bringing it home, box by box. I'm gonna try to get rid of a lot of stuff of course, cuz my room is already pretty full...I'm known for being not only having a ton of crap, but also being a packrat.
Oh, and you know those super cute ladder bookcases (nice versions at Crate and Barrel, and not as nice ones at Target)? My dad is going to MAKE me one!!! Sweet!
Anyways, needless to say, I am INCREDIBLY EXCITED!!! The short version of all of this is that what has been "my room" for the last 4 years is finally turning back into MY room. My goal is to have brought home a good amount and taken care of it by Sunday. Cross you fingers.

pretty, huh?
I babysat tonight for the little girls across the street from us. The 5 and a half year old, Bella, and the 3 year old, Lilah. They were playing outside yesterday and Bella and I had this conversation:
Me: Hey Bella, would you like it if I painted your nails again tomorrow?
Bella: Yeah! Um, can I maybe, um, paint yours too?
Me: Sure!
*thirty minutes later when I went out to take out the trash*
Bella: Hey, um, maybe tomorrow, um, could you bring some of YOUR nailpolish?
Me: Sure!
Bella: Um, Can you bring GREEEEN??
Me: I'm sorry, Bella, I only have pink and purple.
Bella: Um, PURPLE!
So tonight I painted the girls' toenails. Then Lilah wanted to paint my fingernails. Bella was too preoccupied with NickTV.
This is the result, although please forgive the glimpses of black and white paint you may see-that is paint left over from my aunt's that I can't seem to get off. And please note that I did paint my own thumb and forefinger of my left hand:

I painted Bella's toes first, and Lilah leans over and says totally breathlessly "Oh, Bella, soooo pretty." The exact same way I would to a friend's new engagement ring, with the same amount of seriousness. I couldn't help but giggle.
On a side note, it is terribly infuriating when your parents call you out on something you do once (that isn't actually anything wrong) that they have done tons of times, and try to make you feel like a terrible person.

I cant really explain it
Here is a list of things that I consider to be facts:
1. Cake made with Diet Coke is Amazing. It seems that maybe I can be domesticated. Big Maybe still, though.
2. Funfetti icing is the best.
3. The fare for babysitting has soared since I was the neighborhood resident babysitter. For 2 girls (aged 3 and 5.5) from 6:30-11:30, who were incredibly easy to sit, I got $50 last weekend. When I was in junior high, or even early high school, I would have gotten no more than $30 for that. Probably $25. A few weeks ago, for 3 year old triplets, for 7 hours, I got $80. If people keep calling me to sit this summer, I will make a living off of it!
4. My dad is adorable. For many reasons. Most recently: Mom was cleaning the dining room and going through stuff on shelves. Dad found a "Class of 2008" photo album that matches my other photo albums that I prefer and gave it to me saying "Hey, I got this for you, and had planned on printing all the photos from graduation etc while you were still at the Civic, but we got really busy." It was super cute. Even cuter was tonight, while printing pictures to put in it he picked it up and said "I was gonna print pictures for you for when I gave it to you. I'm sorry." 5 minutes later, he says "You know I ordered this specially for you...from Target." It was funny. Trust me.
5. Also on my dad, there are many things he is and isn't. One of the things he is is incredibly protective of me. Which is awesome. It's like he loves me so much, he gets really heated when he hears of someone fucking with me, even slightly. We had a very to moderately minor event at our gym last week that brought that out in him.
6. Sitting on my porch at night, drinking wine, eating diet coke cake, talking about sex and sex toys with Ann and Frankie is the best.
7. Big production numbers in musicals make the world go round. This includes movie musicals, even bad ones.
8. The book The Emperor's Children was amazing. I highly suggest it, especially for transitioning adults/college students. Possible "review" to come.
9. I am going to Michigan for Fourth of July. We're going to visit my Aunt and Uncle/God Parents, their daughters, and their daughter's new baby Morgan. There is an outlet mall near them with, literally, 500+ stores. Hopefully we go.
10. My Aunt Kathy has this beautiful "secretary" (like the piece of furniture) that she is giving me. It used to belong to her Grandma Deeter, meaning my great grandma. How cool is that. Now I have much, much more incentive to get my rear in gear to finish redoing my room so I can put it in there. I saw it last week and its gorgeous. As soon as I get it, I will post a picture.
11. Who makes a list of 11 things? I do. Number 11? I miss my friends from school too much :(.
Update: 12. Getting a manicure from a 3 year old always makes you prettier. For reals.
13. Smiley and Snoop told me I was the strongest girl they know. Heckya!
ReUpdate: 14. My family and I are terrible at doing things on time. My mom and I finally stuffed and addressed my graduation announcements. I graduated on May 17. In case you didn't realize, today was June 30th. Yikes. Good news is I was able to include thank you notes in the envelopes. They turned out quite nicely.
15. I have a disgusting and embarrassing addiction to Living Lohan. Don't judge me. Yes, I realize it's a terrible, terrible show and that I'm only supporting them by watching, but I can't help it. (hey there terrible grammar/punctuation!) I hate myself for it. One of the upsides of watching? One of my fave blogs, Defamer, does an excellent mock write up of it each week giving the reader/watcher 3 lessons they should have learned from Mother of the Year Dina Lohan. These articles are hilarious.

The Difference Is He Didn't Have to Be President on Television
So I'm finally home in my own bed in my own house in Indy. It feels great. Weird at the same time.
Despite the miserable parts of the last two weeks at the Civic (when
someone flipped their shit), I had an absolutely amazing experience. The set turned out really well, thanks to a number of people who really pulled through for me. I couldn't appreciate them and the work they did more!
The show opened Friday to a stellar audience. They were laughing at things we didn't know were funny. They cried. And they gave us a standing ovation. Of course, in the booth, I was gonna stand for the amazing cast no matter what, but it was even better that the whole house agreed.

The South Bend Tribune came on Friday night and wrote a STELLAR review. AND...They had some nice things to say about my set. My first time in the newspaper (as, you know, stage managers don't generally get written about) and I get two paragraphs! There are photos of the show on the site as well. This is the first one, and if you click next, you'll get to see nine of them.

A good time was had by all at various bars and restaurants post rehearsals and shows this week. That's always good. And I got to know some incredible people while working on this show. While I am so absolutely excited to be home (and to be going to New York on THURSDAY!!!), I really, really miss the cast and crew of this show. I don't usually experience this. I think it must be because of how well they treated me (especially after the bad stuff went down). I'm sure part of it has to do with my may or may not having a super crush on a cast member. Shhh...don't tell.

My parents came up for the show last night. We went to the LaSalle Grill for dinner (my dad said right before graduation that he'd always wanted to try the Tippecanoe Place and the LaSalle Grill. We did Tippecanoe after graduation, and we got LaSalle in last night-good work, Deeters.

I gave them a tour of the theatre, and of my set, and then sat in the audience with them and watched like a real audience member. Of course, I did some saving of the light board op and some trouble shooting for some cast members etc, but I wouldn't have it any other way. And I sewed on the button at intermission. Not a button...THE button. My parents absolutely loved the show, and the set of course-but they have to love that. My mom cried like a baby. It was stellar. And of course I jumped out of my seat to standing ovate them last night as well (I'm aware that's not a word, but who cares, I like it). The boyfriend of the director and the sound board op (director's nephew) joined me, and soon after the rest of the house did too. I couldn't have been more proud of a group of people (exception: my comp).
After the show I introduced my parents around to the cast and crew etc, and everyone loved each other. Dana, the director, had us do some cast/crew pictures on the set and required my to be in the front of the pictures. Yikes. We took some crazy shots too--and in case you didn't know (and can't tell by the picture) the show was not only called Intimate Apparel, but was about it too ;).
Now I'm home, trying to make my room habitable. All of my stuff, save what I had with me the last 2 weeks, is in storage. I have to go get my clothes, toiletries, and shoes tomorrow, so that I can be all packed for THE New York Trip by Wednesday afternoon. Yikes!!!
Post New York Trip, there will be a family get together to celebrate the graduation, and the purging of my room to turn it from make shift storage for my mom (as it's been for the last 4 years) back into my room that will be a nice place for me to live for the next year.

plan exciting events
My dad's reaction to me sending him a text message saying that "the cast party last night got broken up by castle point security, but not to worry, everyone is fine"? "you girls are wild"How many dads, or parents for that matter, would react like that????
And I guess that's just one of those things that makes college experience complete. It was my first experience like that, that's for sure.
Also, my greatest investment since I began college (beSIDES all 5 dvd players)? A hamper that has wheels and is pulled like a suitcase. Seriously. It's ingenious.

RIP awesome awesome awesome DVD player :(
Today marks the death of my 4th DVD player since August 2004. I. Kid. You. Not.
It's not like I do anything stupid to them, other than watch movies ALL the time. After the last one, my dad said I was ridiculous and then said no more DVD players for you. Then we ended up getting this one, well, the now dead one, at Costco. Cuz it was different. It was one of those portable DVD players. And it played videos and what not from and IPod, and pictures from a camera memory card. AND it hooks up to the TV to be used as a DVD player. Awesome right? Exactly. And now the DVD part won't work anymore and I am really upset. It just spins and the screen says loading and thats that. The other DVD players I wasn't so broken up over, but this one is amazing, and so useful and practical and I'm just really angry cuz it cost a fair amount of money. Maybe I'm feeling like I'm wasting good things and feeling guilty. Yeah, I think that's it. But movies are a HUGE part of my life. I have like 225 or something DVDs.
I went to Target today and got one of those lens cleaning things to try and fix it. No such luck. My dad said he would look in the Sunday adds tomorrow for cheap DVD players. But while at Target with doobs we found one for $40. So I called dad and he said just get it. Cuz $40 is pretty cheap for a name brand DVD player. So I did. I'm holding out on taking it out and setting it up in case the old one miraculously works again. But I'm still really upset about this. Stupid Deeter. Stupid DVD player. Stupid Deeter.
Also, I do realize how materialistic this makes me sound.

heart pops
I.Can't.Wait. Okokok, I know all 3 of my readers are SICK AND TIRED of me whining about missing The Office and saying how I can't wait for it to come back. I'm sorry. If you know me well enough, or at all, you know that my way of dealing with ANYTHING is to talk about it. A lot. Except on the very (very) rare occasion that I shut it inside and don't say anything at all (my mom being sick, and the January shit with that one guy who's name is :) being the only 2 examples I can think of). So deal with it? Ok, well don't DEAL with it, cuz I want all 3 of you, and maybe eventually more?, to keep reading.
Another thing I am SO stoked about? The return of Major League Baseball Season. Actually, baseball season in general, but the Yankees in particular. Opening day for the Yankees is 2 weeks from today, well yesterday-Monday 3/17. And I'm super pumped.
My excitement for baseball, I realized last night, doesn't JUST come from my love of the Yankees and Derek Jeter (and his backside). There are so many other things that come with it. For one, baseball means spring. And that means warm weather. And school almost being over. And warm weather means open windows, nice breezes, the smell of fresh rain (on it's way or taking place), a good thunderstorm, flip flops, and other things. Baseball also means daddy/carole time. We bond over just watching baseball. And not any one team in particular. He's a Cubs and Indians fan, and I'm a Yankees fan, but none of any of their games are REGULARLY broadcast in Indianapolis, so we generally sit down in the summer at LEAST 3 times a week and jsut watch some baseball together. And it's great. I love it. And I love my dad. That's one of the things I'm going to seriously miss when (if) I move out. Not that we can't still do it.
So, there you have it. I can't wait. Plus, I've been told I have an addictive personality--which explains all of this. Although I'm not entirely sure what that means...

I'm so happy, that I...
So, first things first. Go to The Office's website and look under "Next On:" . Yeah, it says new episodes are comng on APril 10th. Ok, thats a long way off, but at least its coming!!!!!!!!!
The interview with IRT went well. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts and support. They said they were interested in me, but they won't start looking at resumes until their show opens ina couple weeks (next week is tech, then a week of previews, then open). So they told me to go ahead and follow up if I don't hear. Keep your fingers crossed!!!
In addition to that, I made my decision about Summer Shakes. I went ahead and told Mark that I really want to pursue this thing at IRT and some other places in Indy, but if nothing works out, I'll let him know in case he needs some carpenters/electricians this summer. I think taht's what I was thinking the whole time.
Ann was in town, well is in Indy still, and saw I was gonna be home for like 22 hours. So she came over last night while my mom was sewing buttons for my comp, and while I was prop searching and laundry washing for my comp. We got to catch up. As usual I talked too much. We watched "An American In Paris" and it was amazing. It was really good to hang out with my Annie :). But it made me miss her more :(.
Lastly, my dad called me Friday while I was at home putting on my makeup and getting ready to head downtown for the interview. I was asking him where was best to park near IRT and he told me (for the 100th time) not to say "LIKE" in my interview. I said "I'm not stupid, Dad." Then last night, driving home from dinner (we got to go to one of my old school faves with my aunt, it was great), he said "you didn't say 'like' a lot during your interview did you?" and I said no. He then told me that apparently I have a TERRIBLE habit of saying "so, yeah" ALL TH
E TIME. He said "you'll be talking to your mom and I on th ephone saying something, you'll finish, then you'll say 'so, yeah'". I didn't believe him. Then, when Ann and I ran to Target (to look for red twinkle lights for my comp) I told her about it, and then realized that I say it ALL THE TIME. Dad was right. Do any of the readers have anything that they say like that ('so, yeah') all the time?
Ok, not lastly, sorry. My birthday is a week from today. 22. woot. My dad gave me my birthday present last night. A Derek Jeter Yankees jersey. YAY!!! Plus, he asked if I wanted to go to Target today before I headed back to campus, and he got me Monsters Inc on dvd. Ays and I watched it after the superbowl, and I fell in love. So yeah. Yay for early birthday presents.
Ok, lastly for real now. Comping is expensive as shit. I jsut have to say that.

They tried to make her go to rehab...she should've said "take me now"
I hope you all enjoyed my version of a play-by-play of last night's grammy's. of course, it was mostly of the performances--cuz that's what I love to watch the most.
This is pretty fugging hilarious. Courtesy of the Fug Girls.
Also, if you want my help, I'll be more than happy to do absolutely all that I can. All you have to do is be (genuinely) nice to me and treat me like you want me to treat you. Is that so hard? Or too much to ask?
Lastly, wrote a cover letter tonight. Dad's (the grammar and writing nazi) is proofing it tomorrow. I'm taking my resume to Melissa for one last go over, and then once it's all editted and printed, I'm mailing them off to IRT and hopefully ACT in Indy by Wednesday. HOLY SHIT. Plus, sent some emails and made a call today. This future thing is scary as all hell. And I'd ask to go back to K-8 or high school, but I hated those. And I don't want to do homework anymore, so I guess going back to first year at SMC is out of the picture. And I want to move out of my parent's house...looks like the real world is the only option. Damn.
11 days til my 22nd birthday. WHOA

heroes fall as years go by
So, since my huge.fucking.debbie.downer.post last week, things have been pretty great. Not completely great. But great none the less.
Friday night was the Keenan Revue. It was pretty good. Sarah went with me. It was a good time. Sarah and I have been hanging out more recently. It's been nice cuz she knows exactly what to say to me to make me feel better, and I know that she's right because i know that she knows me.
My dad came up Saturday. We had fun. Ran errands. Ate at BW3s :). Went to the NDvDePaul basketball game. It was weird to be at the game and not be with the basketball band. Saturday night I went to castle point to hang out with some friends after the Revue.
Sunday my dad was just going to leave south bend without seeing me cuz he knew i was going out Saturday night. He called me and his car got broken into while inthe parking garage at
the Marriott downtown. He said that they shattered his driver's side window. At first he thought nothing was stolen (even tho his ipod, gps, my moms gps, and his xm radio were sitting out in plain view). He figured whoever it was got scared away before they could steal anything. He realized on his way home that they stole his radar detector--the cheapest thing out of all of that, ironically. Apparently the Marriott had had this happen before. They vacuumed his car, taped his window (he called to tell me he had a kentucky window), and said that if the hotel's and his insurance wouldnt cover it, that they'd give him 2 free nights for graduation.
Had to start load-in for the dance show on sunday. Had rehearsal for my comp too. Plus watched the superbowl at ays and caroline's. I ended up spending the night cuz when it was time for me to go home, it was snowing like crazy.
Today was mostly good. then it got sucky. I guess my whole reason for posting is to bitch about tonight. Whatever. It wasn't SO bad...it was just one thing after another that kinda upset me. Someone didnt show up for my rehearsal. Then we weren't getting ANYTHING accomplished. I take partial responsibility for this because I allow openness and fun and sillyness most of the time. But it got out of hand. Plus im stressed about my comp anyways. Much more than I let on. Plus people have to miss rehearsals later in the week. grr. Then I realized that the person I always call to cheer me up and to give me some perspective "can't talk to me right now" cuz "shit happened in his world and hes gotta figure it out on his own" or whatever. And that pissed me off even more. Since that really pathetic post last week, I haven't been too bad. I just needed to get that stuff out, and it made it much much easier to deal with. I was able to talk it out with someone i know who really understands me, that helped too. So i havent been thinking about it as much or as upset by it as much. I have finally just accepted that hes being a jerk, and if hes gonna be a jerk, im better off without him in my life til he decides not to be. So I was ok. But tonight I g
ot upset cuz I was upset about something, and couldnt call my bestfriend who was always there for me and helped me deal with that shit. Then I got more upset cuz I started thinking about how stupid this whole fucking situation is. and it was a vicious cycle. (wow the spelling and grammar in this is terrible, sorry). So I came back to my room pissed off and sad as shit. Was obnoxious and emotional and made an idiot of myself to 2 people on aim. Not in a huge way, but I should have just cooled off instead of being all emo or whatever, cuz i hate it when people do that and i hate it when i do that. Plus, I always regret things I say when I say them upset. Grr. So i'm left with thinking about how dumb this whole thing really is (not the comp thing, its perfectly fine to be angry about that), and I'm not as upset anymore. I'm trying to actively make it not my problem.
Wow. I'm a little pathetic.
Tomorrow=Fat Tuesday, Civic, Voice and Movement, no rehearsal, and who knows.
I'll leave you with a pitcute of some sweet stuff I did at the civic last week.
