Things That Happened In The Last Few Days That I Love:

1. Girls' Night was a HUUUGE success. I can't believe it's been like 6 or 7 years since we started going to On The Boarder for girls' time. TOOONS of pictures were taken, as is to be expected with us. 8 years as best friends, and so many more for the future.

1a. While we were watching OUR movie, The Sweetest Thing, we realized something. There's a scene where Cameron Diaz's character raises and lowers her arms to show her boob-saggage saying "22 (up)...28(down)...22...28...". When we first watched that movie at 17, 22 felt like decades away...we just realized that here we are...22 years old.

2. While painting at Aunt K's on Wednesday, I picked up one of her many issues of Real Simple Magazine. I liked it, so I picked up the newest issue at the grocery store this weekend. And I fell in love. In jr. high and high school, I was a magazine junkie. I think I'm going to subscribe to this one. It's filled with small tidbits of awesome stuff--instead of super long articles and what not. Little tips for all sorts of aspects of your life withOUT making you feel like an idiot for being single. Love.It.
3. Baseball is still one of the main loves of my life. I came to the realization that I need to find a man who loves, or at least appreciates and enjoys, both baseball and broadway (or any theatre). That would be perfect. Apparently there aren't too many of those however, because that explains my pathetic love life.

4. Duck Pin Bowling is SUPER fun. I went with Smiley, his 2 best friends, and one of their girlfriends. It was great. AND cheap!

5. Those Miller High Life commercials where the beer man and crew come in and confiscate Miller Lite from those who are neglecting it are hysterical.

I've got a theory...

So I was driving home from Frankie's tonight around 12:30am, and a woman was walking along the side of the road, going with traffic mind you, pulling a carry on sized suitcase. Weird. What are your theories on where she was going/what she was doing??? By the time I got home (a 10 minute drive), I had fashioned a very dramatic story about her leaving a dirt bag boyfriend and what not. Very exciting stuff to compliment my very boring life.

I arrived home to a super hyper Bailey at the front door who ran all around downstairs. Then I turned off the lights and walked up stairs to be scared half to death by MooMoo standing on the landing. In the dark, all you can see of her is her eyes and the white stripe on her chest. To many, it would be scary, but she was wagging her tail and hammin it up for me.

We watched Kate & Leopold tonight. It was adorable, and I'm surprised I've never seen it.

Hopefully tomorrow mom and I are will go (back) down to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I've been with my Aunt K (twice), but not with the mom.

The top picture is 4 out of 5 of "the girls" at our senior band camp in high school. The bottom is the 4 of us last night for Crabs' going away. That's a five year difference, but we've been together for 8. Nostalgia anyone???

There's a map or a clue to a map!

It's not a trip for a member of the Deeter Family, unless something bad happens or there's a blip on the radar. I took my mom to the airport tonight for her trip to a conference in Chicago/to hang with her sister. Of course my mom getting ready for a trip always causes insanity at my house--it's like the house flips upside down and runs in double time. Anyways, she decides not to pack until she gets home from work today, she left at 3, and her flight was at 7:45...anyways, she got packed in time and we left on time. There are 2 options for getting to 465, the highway that loops around Indy, off of which is the airport, from my house-actually, there are tons of options, but to get to that specific side of town there are only 2. So we pick option #2, and the ramp to 465 is closed. That's just how things roll for us Deeters.

In other travel related news, I'm meeting Fur at his house tomorrow at 2:00 to drive to Chicago because our flight to NYC leaves at 6am (Chicago time) Tursday. We'll have dinner with my mom and aunt and then crash at Fur's sister's place.

Oh and get this. On Monday, I went to my dad's office to get his car and keys so I could go to storage to get my clothes etc that they brought home from South Bend. So I walk into the building and 3 people are standing outside smoking. That's not so bad, I don't judge people who smoke. They decide that they are coming inside when I walk to the door, and they block the entrance. Then I get inside and head to the elevator, and it's obvious that these people want the elevator too, but they are lollygagging behind. So I stand and wait in the elevator holding the door open button for way too long waiting for them. I know, I know--I didn't have to wait for them, but if I didn't then I would have been an asshole, and I'm not like that. They finally get in the elevator, and it's 2 girls and a guy. And he's one of those outgoing in a douchy guys who is incredibly annoying, and generally rude.

I'm wearing my newest Saint Mary's t-shirt (we left South Bend on Sunday, and we made a last stop at the SMC bookstore and I got a new t-shirt and sweatshirt, cuz who knows when I'll be back up there :'( ). So this douchy guy looks at me with a smug look on his face and says "Saint Mary's, is that a real college?" And I ditch the nice, polite girl face, and I assume a "what the hell" face and say "yes." "Oh, well I didn't know...is it one of those nun-colleges?" I just look at him...and one of the girls says "duh, haven't you heard of Saint Mary's of the Woods? gosh. That's it, right?" And I politely say "No, its just a college, not a nun-school, and it's in South Bend...by Notre Dame." and Mr. Douche says "oh, I just figured it was a fake college. Like I went to Phoenix University and got my degree in 4 days." (Disclaimer: I don't necessarily thing Phoenix University is a fake or illegit school, I'm just quoting him.) And I get off the elevator, after looking at them with a nasty face, and walk into the firm.

Ok, so I'm not narcissistic enough to think that everyone knows what or where my beloved SMC is. But I do think that that's a pretty rude and obnoxious thing to say to someone on an elevator, especially while smirking. Also, it kind of puts a damper on a recent graduate's excitement about the future. Does anyone else think that's rude?

to learn more, go to...... .com

I've done a lot since my last post, and in an effort to save us all some time, I'll just list stuff.

-Moved out of 430 Le Mans Hall. Packed the dad's van, then took 2 hampers and a suitcase to Castle Point to live til the end of the month.
-Began realizing a scene design at the Civic here for Intimate Apparel.
-Had said design be beautiful. I know that's really self-praise-filled and all, but, for reasons you will see in the next item, it's been a rough week and so I'm really proud of myself for getting through this far.
-Had the TD, who is usually a very jovial, nice man fucking EXPLODE at me. Not because of my actions in particular, but I was the outlet, and boy was it terrifying.
-Tonight, said TD tried to make amends in a most awkward way of saying the set looks really nice.
-Officially gotten over the most recent crush I've had.
-After asking a certain person if he'd come see a dress rehearsal for my show (I invited him and everyone else to the real show, but tickets are expensive, and I can bring whomever I want to dress rehearsals for free) and he said "Are you acting in it? No? then just show me pictures." Yeah, douchy, right?
-Officially fallen in love with an older man. Ok, he's not like OLD. He's just older than me. I don't actually know how old he is. I'm guessing 30.
-Bonded with Caroline's devil cat Lola.
-Grilled out TWICE. On daddy deeter's awesome portable grill. He brought it up for us to use between senior week and when I come home next weekend.
-Bought my airline tickets for NYC with Fur. Booked our hostel. Ordered our Yankees tickets.
-Cooked spaghetti. I realize that cooking isn't usually an accomplishment for people. But for me, it's huge. I've never cooked before. And this past week staying at an apartment is my first experience not having a dining hall or being at home where my parents always cook or we eat out.
-Went to a graduation party where I had the best cake ever, played Apples to Apples with some of my fave people, roasted mallows, dipped the roasted mallows in melted chocolate and teddy grahms, and told ghost stories.
-Had tech and first dress for Intimate Apparel.
-Drove home in the worst downpour/storm I've ever experienced. That was tonight. And I thought I was going to die.

up his stairs

Also...just discoverd video AIM. The best friend Furfur just got a new computer and IMed me with it, I got a message saying something video-session accept-y, and I clicked yes and my computer's camera turned on automatically. How cool is that?

Of course, not quite as cool as my getting a job. But still stellar!

The Present

So apparently Bloomington, Indiana has a completely DIFFERENT CLIMATE than Indianapolis. Which makes sense because Indianapolis has a completely different climate from South Bend. It's just weird cuz there's less than 250 miles between the three. Weird.

For those of you keeping track of me and my future, as well as for those of you who care, I'm interviewing again at IRT tomorrow afternoon. Keep me in your prayers and thoughts!

Also, I decided to take a risk, as I was told recently I don't do that enough, and go ahead and go back to short hair even though the girl who has cut my hair for years is out on bed rest cuz her baby that's due this summer tried to come out last month....whoa. Anyways. It was generally a bad experience (it's ok, if you told me not to do it, you can say I told ya so), as she was unfriendly (even though I went to the same salon, just a different lady) and I'm still not sure if I like it or not...it's been growing on me all day. I'll take a picture tomorrow or sometime and post it. Maybe.

Oh yeah. Have you ever spent a day wondering what would have happened if you did something a little differently? Something as simple as going to a different school? I spent so much of yesterday (besides all the fun) wondering if I'd be a better stage manager if I had gone to IU (not that I had considered it...) or if I'd have a job already, or if I'd have a boyfriend or a guy interested in me (1-not that i need that to be happy. 2-there aer SO many boys there...it was overwhelming). Or whatever else. It was really weird. I love SMC. And everything about it. Minus a few things here and there. But overall it's fantastic. It's just...I wonder...?

thats what you want in a...

My mom and I are driving home from doing some retail therapy (her choice not mine) tonight at Keystone. It's raining out and super dark. I'm in the straight/right turn lane and there is a left turn lane next to me. Light turns green. I proceed through the intersection. I'm like 2/3 of the way through the intersection and mom yells "OH SHIT" and I slam on the brakes. What else would I do??? I thought the jerk (I mean, you always just ASSUME he's a jerk) in the left turn lane decided to go straight and was gonna plow into me. I turn to look at my mom and finally hear/see a police car FLYING towards us so I get our ass out of the intersection. Mom starts to yell (not like made yell, just being obnoxious like we are to each other, all in good fun) at me "why the hell would you slow down?!?" "MOM! What am I supposed to think when you just scream OH SHIT at me??!!" It was really quite humorous. after we finished bitching at each other, I realized we could have died and wondered (aloud) if dad would be able to return the massive amounts of Yves Saint Laurent makeup we just bought and get some money back. My brilliant mother (literally, she's a certifiable genius, just not always real bright) says "well, probably not since it would have gone up in flames with us."

That's my mom and I for you :) She also tried to get into a dirty sexual joke banter with me at dinner (at McAlisters', btw) and honestly expected to win. Right. HA.

Also, bought super cute jean skirt at Old Navy today. The best part? More than a size smaller than the last pair of bottoms I bought there :)!!!

TOmorrow=B-town for Fur's birthday and to see his show. Hopefully it stops raining by then.

What have I gotta do???

Not to count my chickens before my eggs hatch, but FUR IS COMING TO MY COMP!!!!!! I couldn't be more excited, and scared, at the same time!

Also. I found pictoral proof that my cousin Katie HAS BEEN PASTY WHEN I WAS NOT. She has this thing about how she lives in Florida and is always so tan, but I live in Indiana so I'm always pasty. Well, at our cousin Matt's wedding the summer before my senior year in high school, I was uber tan (ok, burnt too) and she was not. At least that's what this picture says. Granted, I did just get home from band camp that morning. And yes, I know, I have TERRIBLE tan lines. I did my best to get rid of them/cover them up with lots of blush and powder-didn't work.

I'm so happy, that I...

So, first things first. Go to The Office's website and look under "Next On:" . Yeah, it says new episodes are comng on APril 10th. Ok, thats a long way off, but at least its coming!!!!!!!!!

The interview with IRT went well. Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts and support. They said they were interested in me, but they won't start looking at resumes until their show opens ina couple weeks (next week is tech, then a week of previews, then open). So they told me to go ahead and follow up if I don't hear. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

In addition to that, I made my decision about Summer Shakes. I went ahead and told Mark that I really want to pursue this thing at IRT and some other places in Indy, but if nothing works out, I'll let him know in case he needs some carpenters/electricians this summer. I think taht's what I was thinking the whole time.

Ann was in town, well is in Indy still, and saw I was gonna be home for like 22 hours. So she came over last night while my mom was sewing buttons for my comp, and while I was prop searching and laundry washing for my comp. We got to catch up. As usual I talked too much. We watched "An American In Paris" and it was amazing. It was really good to hang out with my Annie :). But it made me miss her more :(.

Lastly, my dad called me Friday while I was at home putting on my makeup and getting ready to head downtown for the interview. I was asking him where was best to park near IRT and he told me (for the 100th time) not to say "LIKE" in my interview. I said "I'm not stupid, Dad." Then last night, driving home from dinner (we got to go to one of my old school faves with my aunt, it was great), he said "you didn't say 'like' a lot during your interview did you?" and I said no. He then told me that apparently I have a TERRIBLE habit of saying "so, yeah" ALL THE TIME. He said "you'll be talking to your mom and I on th ephone saying something, you'll finish, then you'll say 'so, yeah'". I didn't believe him. Then, when Ann and I ran to Target (to look for red twinkle lights for my comp) I told her about it, and then realized that I say it ALL THE TIME. Dad was right. Do any of the readers have anything that they say like that ('so, yeah') all the time?

Ok, not lastly, sorry. My birthday is a week from today. 22. woot. My dad gave me my birthday present last night. A Derek Jeter Yankees jersey. YAY!!! Plus, he asked if I wanted to go to Target today before I headed back to campus, and he got me Monsters Inc on dvd. Ays and I watched it after the superbowl, and I fell in love. So yeah. Yay for early birthday presents.

Ok, lastly for real now. Comping is expensive as shit. I jsut have to say that.

1st important thing to write about: I got shoes to go with the uberuber cute dress I got for the wedding. Brown Patent Leather Peep Toe Heels. YAY :)

2nd important thing to write about: I met with the Executive Director from the Indianapolis Opera, where I interned this summer, today. He and I talked about my future and contacts etc. He told me that I'm outgoing and all, but I'm too closed to uncertainty and taking risks. I don't know if that's true or not...I've spent most of the day thinking about that and what it means and possibilities because of that...damnitt.

3rd important thing to write about: Tomorrow is Frankie's annual christmas bash. YAY!!!!! ALL FREAKING FIVE OF US will be there. I AM SO EXCITED. Plus Ann's awesome boyfriend Duffy, and Smiley's coming with me.

4th important thing to write about: Supplies to finish putting together my book for ACTF cost $91 today. Balls.

5th important thing to write about: Crabs is coming over. Yay. We're going to watch The Holiday. If you haven't seen it...you need to. NOW. But more importantly we're going to girl talk--and GOD ONLY KNOWS how much I need that right now. Seriously.

6th important thing to write about: I leave for South Bend/ACTF on Tuesday...
